Kuku na Muniu, or death’s apology, is a musical performance of the Stage of Acting Initiatives at the Dramatic Theatre in Gniezno in 2005. It is a tragifarsa, based on the motives of poems by Maciej Rembarz, I composed the music for. The performance consists of 14 songs whose music emphasizes the nature of the poems – when the poet stylizes, looking for inspiration in different eras, I find the appropriate musical idiom in the past, or write “upstream” – despite the convention imposed by text, provoking the recipient to a non-schematic view on the death.
Kuku na Muniu is a poignant stage tale in which it is not known what is serious and what is irony. The recipient has a choice, that was the idea of the creators of this performance.
